Color and Illumination|Intelligent and ergonomic illumination involves closely intertwined areas of research as well as factors having a significant impact on quality of life. This research group seeks to enhance the integration of these two factors to produce the most healthful, colorful, and suitable sources of intelligent lighting for people’s lives.
In pursuit of this goal, this research group has set up a specially designed laboratory to investigate the brightness and color temperature of different ambient light sources and how they affect eye comfort and fatigue as well as preferred color. The resulting data is being compiled into a database on image safety and lighting comfort to help designers create an optimal viewing environment for using the various sources of entertainment available in the home. In addition, a fashion color simulation system has been developed which allows the user to experiment with different colors and styles on a model to choose the overall look that they want to present while providing analysis of how such a look comes across to others, thus enabling the user to make appropriate adjustments.
