Research Achievement Publication of the First Phase Top University Grant Project (1996-2000)
TBTC held the Research Achievement Publication of the First Phase Top University Grant Project on July 16, 2010.  It was not only a performance review and evaluation of project which had grant from Ministry of Education over the past four years, but also a good social for research teams.  In Intelligent Building Research team, an application of the 4th generation module with glass for UV light absorption from Natural Light Guiding System from Prof. Jong-Woei Whang (Electronic Engineering Department) was a new trial.  Regarding energy saving and ventilation, Heat Insulation Solar Glass from Prof. Chin-Huai Young (Construction Engineering Department) already has lots of cases of technology transfer and university-industry cooperation.  Besides, Air-Curtain Hood from Prof. Rong-Fung Huang (Mechanical Engineering Department) is expected to be applied to laboratory and housewares to isolate smoke in kitchen and toxic gas from experiments respectively.

In Life-Cycle Engineering team, "Earthquake Resistant Beam-to-Column Connection for Steel Structure" is successfully applied to Taipei 101 and about 200 high-rise buildings in the world, which has made significant contributions to safety of residents  lives and earthquake-resistance of buildings.

As for underground engineering in metropolitan areas, forward-looking technology is developed for damage prevention and mitigation on mass rapid transit system, underpass, and any other underground engineering related construction.  In fire safety techniques of new generation, there are fire prevention, smoke isolation, fire evacuation signs, and other related research.  Besides, key technology development of building drainage system, and facilities completeness of radiant cooling and cooled ceiling HVAC (heating, ventilation, and air conditioning) test are integrating with ventilation research group of Intelligent Building Research Team for setting a brand new building equipment system.

TBTC will integrate research achievements above and from tel-communication, power, control, mechanical, construction, architecture, and design at school for experiment after the new building inaugurates.
