IALCCE 2010 lecturers, Taiwan Tech faculty, and VIPs. The 2nd International Symposium on Life-Cycle Civil Engineering (IALCCE2010) was organized on behalf of the International Association for Life-Cycle Civil Engineering (IALCCE) under the auspices of the National Taiwan University of Science & Technology (Taiwan Tech). The Symposium was held in Taipei, Taiwan on October 27-31, 2010.
Most civil engineering works, such as important buildings and major bridges, are designed and built for long useful lives, of the order of 50 to 100 years. In order to sustain and maintain an adequate level of safety or reliability over such extended life-cycles, proper maintenance strategies are required. In this regard, the life-cycle cost and performance are important for optimal considerations as well as for sustainability. Moreover, for infrastructure systems that must resist the forces of natural hazards such as earthquakes, typhoons, flooding, landslides, etc, the capacities of such systems to provide protection and avoid disasters are of special concern. The aim of the IALCCE2010 was successfully to provide a forum for researchers, practitioners, and students to meet and exchange the latest knowledge and information in the field of life-cycle civil engineering, as well as to stimulate and promote interest and studies in this field, and to bridge the gap between research and professional practice. * For more information, please refer the attachments: program overview, keynote speakers, and symposium topics. * Event photos : https://picasaweb.google.com/TBTCTaiwan/IALCCE2010?authuser=0&feat=directlink Comments are closed.
