Passionate attendee of the conference.
The problems faced by historic district preservers are not the same as the problems of those preserving single buildings.  The authenticity of software and hardware facilities has to be conserved and the revitalization of historic districts has to be justified as far as possible.  The value of preservation, the provision of security services and the value of commerce or development need to be balanced.  Old preserved buildings with no business cannot survive.

The conference provided a forum for people from all fields who were interested in sharing contemporary experiences and observations on the preservation and revitalization of historic districts.  It attracted scholars, experts, government officials, leaders of nonprofit organizations and communities, students and others from all over the world to explore the following issues:

  1. What is the role that citizen participation plays in revitalization of historic districts?
  2. How to reach a win-win result for conservation and redevelopment of historic districts?
  3. How may the disaster prevention planning and facilities contribute to the secure revitalization of historic districts?
By contrasting cultures and technologies from different countries, it was expected that in the exchange of ideas of how to care for our architectural and historical heritage.
